The Unit
The client brief was to create a visually striking piece of furniture for their family home while incorporating plenty of concealed storage and display space. A wrap around fireplace was selected as the starting point of the design as this influenced how wide the center section would be and the position for the countertop and TV.
The contrasting Oak and Black Oak really stand out against the antique mirrored back. LED strip lights highlight any pieces on display and also can be dimmed for mood lighting.
Materials Used:
• Black lacquered oak shelving and doors
• Solid Oak vertical strips
• Antique mirror behind the shelving
• Dimmable LED strip lights underneath each shelf with smart phone controls.
• Blum push-to-open drawers
• 1500mm long fireplace from Charlton & Jenrick
• Countertop is veneered Oak finished with osmo honey oil
