How it works
As a craftsman, Aidan is skilled at turning your idea into a hand-crafted reality.
By listening to you, Aidan will guide you through the process from initial designs to the finished handmade piece. This makes the process rewarding and exciting for the client, whose involvement is central to the process.
Aidan understands the personal investment clients have in creating an original piece that reflect their ethos and values.
Using traditional methods and innovative responses, Aidan will design and make a piece that can be used for your lifetime and passed down to future generations.
Initial Meeting
The first step in commissioning a piece of furniture is to get in touch about your project. Please feel free to look at our previous commissions/collections for inspiration to guide you.
Aidan will arrange a meeting to visit your home or premises to assess the space in which the piece will be situated. He will take measurements, discuss the design brief and budget with you.
Design Proposal
After this initial meeting, Aidan will work on a design proposal. A second meeting will discuss the design proposal and you can review material samples chosen by Aidan. Both he and the client will agree a timeframe for the project.
Please allow at least three weeks for this process as designing one-off pieces does take time
Deposit
After the design proposal meeting, Aidan will incorporate your feedback into the design. Once amendments and the budget are agreed, a booking deposit will move the project forward to the next stage.
Final Design
Aidan will draw up the final design for your bespoke piece. If a client requires a model for a more complex design, a scaled-down model will be made.
A delivery date will be agreed and Aidan will work his magic on your piece of fine furniture.
You are more than welcome to visit the workshop while your piece is being made to view its progress.
